Check out the New Smyrna farmers markets
New Smyrna has two wonderful farmers markets. One located at Old Fort Park and the other located at the beach near Third Avenue. Each farmers market offers a variety of local produce, seafood, grass-fed meats, baked goods, handcrafted items, and more! The hours are from 7am-noon for Old Fort Park or 8am-noon for the beachside farmers market.
Donât miss the First Saturday Art Stroll Gallery Walk
After checking out one or both of the farmers markets, donât miss the First Saturday Art Stroll Gallery Walk. Like the name states, this event happens the first Saturday of every month. Enjoy art and music presented by artists and gallery owners while taking a leisurely stroll along Douglas and Canal Streets. This event runs from 10am-4pm. Admission is free.
Sample local craft beer at the Craft Beer Walk
Another similar event along Canal Street is the Craft Beer Walk. From 1-7pm, sample delicious local craft beer while taking in the sights and sounds of this beautiful, pedestrian-friendly street. This historic, tree-lined district showcases specialty shops, art galleries, fine dining, cultural attractions, as well as the New Smyrna Beach Museum of History. Tickets for this event cost $20 and are cash only. You receive a glass, 12 beer sample tickets, and a map of the participating locations.
Racing fans should check out the Coke Zero 400
If none of these events are your cup of tea, definitely look into The Coke Zero 400. This NASCAR event takes place every Independence Day weekend inviting spectators to watch drivers compete for the coveted Daytona victory. In addition to the race, you get to watch an amazing fireworks show, pre-race festivities and concert.
